Surprise Party/Attempted Crafts..

So today was Stacy's surprise party!!! 80's themed. It was such an awesome turn out. I have only known Stacy for about 4 months but I'm already in love with her. I can't wait to see what God has planned for her in the future.
Now picking a gift for Stacy was gonna be a sinch... Right? Well at least I thought it would be. It is a known fact that Miss. Stacy loves her some Star Wars. I thought it would be amazingly easy to get her something. Nope. Nothing seemed right. Nothing felt right. So then the hubs decided we should make her something. But what? A Star Wars Pillow!!!! YES! The perfect gift! One problem... No one sells Star Wars fabric. Seriously! The perfect gift and it wasn't going to be executed. So looking around the craft store for a while and spotted something awesome! So awesome, that I want one. A red cosmetics bag! But it was too plain. I know that Stacy likes red. But it needed something. So I decided to to put on iron on patches with her name and an applique of some sort. With a little help from our new friend Rachel we decided on the things we needed. We took it to my moms and ironed. I needed a little help from the hubs but everything came out beautifully.

Today, the day of the actual party... was so nerve racking. I thought to myself, "It's going to be me that lets the cat out of the bag, I know it."
The morning started out with a small and intimate Relief Society celebration. It included a crepes brunch and a message about the Temple. Very inspiring. After all was said and done, we waited for Stacy to leave to indulge in Rachel's ninja mission. She is such an awesome friend to set this up for Stacy. And Stacy truly deserves it.
At around 7 o'clock we all gathered at a friends house and awaited the arrival of the birthday girl. We were all so excited. When Stacy walked into the door, it was the reaction we were all waiting for. The look on her face was priceless. We indulged in pizza, chips and soda. Danced our butts off to Wii's "Just Dance." And topped everything off with some birthday cake. The best night thus far. Adventure? Maybe. I did break out of my shell today. Big steps. Oh, and by the way, Stacy loved her present. I love my new friends.
